Simon

Myself, Gary and Simon were the dream team that bought huge amounts of success to the Kent FA - we won ten trophies together and Simon bridged the age gap between Gary, myself and the boys. I have so many memories of that time together - some I couldn't share of course as we always said what goes on in the changing room stays in the changing room. Simon had a positive affect on so many young football players - many of which are now earning a living playing football.

In 2009 we lost the Final of the FA County Youth Cup - at Gillingham FC. In the dressing room after the whole atmosphere was low - Simon being Simon and knowing the majority of boys in that squad would be available the next season - got everyone in a huddle and told us all that next started in that dressing room and next season we would be back and we would win it. Well we did - and it was a fantastic story which I relive many days when the weather is grey outside. But Simon had a great sense of humour - and I know later on when he first contracted the dreaded "C" there was no braver man - he was going to fight it and he did. He was so proud of Ellie - I can't add anything more - you made your family so proud matey and may you rest in peace. Ken x
